Individual Therapy
Collaborating with my clients, my aim is to work towards expressed goals while providing safety to reflect upon the origins of inner conflict, unwanted behaviour, anxieties, bothersome thoughts, and social dysfunction. As greater understanding and awareness are made possible, better choices become more available. Clients are empowered to develop self-compassion and to find hope in their dilemmas. I also focus on improving interpersonal relationships and offering healthy coping strategies to emotionally regulate or tolerate distress. I can give advice when asked but clients finding their own answers and decisions are the best outcome of therapy.
My approach is to actively listen to help unravel unhealthy thought patterns, negative feelings, and troublesome behaviour. I am trauma-informed and non-judgmental and do my best to be culturally sensitive and compassionate. I listen with intentionality to your entire background, which includes culture, ethnicity, family system, beliefs, and more.
Areas of focus: anxiety, cross-cultural issues, depression, dying, grief, low self-esteem, life transitions, panic attacks, relationship challenges, suicidal ideation, spiritual growth, trauma, and PTSD.
Methods of treatment: Emotionally-Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectic Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT).

Couple or Family Therapy
Couple therapy or family therapy can help you work through your differences, communicate better, and address challenges in your relationship so you feel seen, heard, and understood. Clients in relationships can be helped to: explore and express feelings, discover their capacity for personal growth, and change and track cycles that block them from communicating well.
Because we are all hardwired for connection and are innately made to express and feel our emotions, my main approach to therapy with couples and families would be using EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy). It is a humanistic, experiential approach that has been researched and proven to work. Studies have shown that high-stress relationships remain stable even up to two years post-therapy. My desire is for clients to have corrective emotional experiences so new ways of engaging with each other can be discovered.
Areas of focus: communication problems, conflict, reconnection, repairing & healing broken relationships, and parenting.

Methods of treatment: Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Emotionally Focused Family Therapy (EFFT).
